JOY over GOD’s PRESENCE
I. Man was Removed from God’s Presence because of Sin. Genesis 3:23-24
II. God Showed His Presence through a NATION.
A. Psalm 87:1-7
B. Psalm 48:2 "It is beautiful in its loftiness, the joy of the whole earth. Like the utmost heights of Zaphon is Mount Zion, the city of the Great King."
C. Psalm 84:1 How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty!" D. Deuteronomy 12:5, 11; (14:23), 16:2, 6, 11, (26:2)
III. God Showed His Presence through His SON
A. Matthew 1:23 “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they

will call him Immanuel”—which means, “God with us.”"

B. Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be

with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel."

C. John 1:14 "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."
IV. God Shows His Presence Through a PEOPLE

B. SPIRITUALIZATION = replacement theology (see Romans 11:29 "for God’s

gifts and his call are irrevocable."

D. (1 Corinthians 3:16) "Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and
that God’s Spirit lives in you?"
E. (2 Corinthians 1:22) "set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come."
F. (2 Corinthians 3:4-18)
G. (Colossians 3:12) "Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience."
H. (Romans 8:35) "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?"
V. God Will Show His presence in HIMSELF. Rev 21:3
The CLOUD, the FIRE, the RED SEA, the GLORY in the face of Moses . . . .
These are NOTHING compared with God’s presence in His people today! APPLICATION: Is God’s Spirit Dwelling in You?
