I. Thankful for God’s Grace.
Focus is on God’s People.
A. He hears prayer. V. 2
B. He pardons sin. V. 3
C. He invites us to worship.
1. John 4:23 “The Father seeks worshipers”
2. Eph 1:11. Calling AND “praise”
3. 2 Thessalonians 2:13 " But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth."
4. 1 Peter 2:1-3
5. James 1:18 "He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created."
II. Thankful for God’s Greatness. V. 5-8
Focus is on all the earth
A. “Ends of earth, farthest seas” land and sea
B. Mountains, seas, waves
C. V. 8 “those living far away fear your wonders”
1. All creation can see God’s wonders
2. God is great to all
3. Matthew 5:45 "that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous."
III. Thankful for God’s Goodness v. 9-13
Focus is on God’s People
A. God’s care for his people
B. A moral quality of benevolence.
1. Psalm 34:8 "8)Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him."
2. Lamentations 3:25 "25)The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;"
C. How does God display His goodness?
1. V. 9 “yo ucare for the land and water it”
2. You provide the people with grain
3. V. 11 God brings abundance for his people
4. Psalm 84:11 "11)For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless."
