Psalm 54

A Psalm of Confidence in the Supremacy of God’s Will

There is a SPIRITUAL BATTLE going on.

SATAN and his demons are opposed to God and His people.

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." (Ephesians 6:12, NIV)

Satan is our ADVERSARY. ENEMY (1 Peter 5:8) ACCUSER of the BRETHREN (Rev 12:10)

ANGEL of LIGHT. (2 Corinthians 11:14-15) "And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve."

Psalm 54 is about the BATTLE

I. The Plans of the Wicked. 54:1-3
A. Inscription.
B. God’s intervention. Satan was against DAVID, but God was FOR HIM.
(Romans 8:31) "What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?"
1. 1 Sam 23:7. Delivered by God’s instructions (1 Sam 23:9-13)

3. 1 Sam 23:19. Delivered by Philistine intervention. (1 Sam 23:26-29)

A. We have FELLOWSHIP with GOD. Fellowship Offering.

3. A “sweet smelling aroma”
4. Do not eat the fat or blood
5. The aroma was pleasing to the LORD
6. The MEAT was food for the worshiper
7. A PICTURE of our Fellowship with God through JESUS
a. JESUS. (1 Corinthians 1:9) "God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful."
b. HOLY SPIRIT (2 Corinthians 13:14) "May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all."
c. FATHER. (1 John 1:3) "We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ."

d. ONE ANOTHER (1 John 1:7) "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin."
