Four Characteristics of God’s Deliverance

The focus is JERUSALEM

God will protect His chosen ones

God will protect us, whom He has chosen

I. God Provides for His People. 48:1-3

B. Power – “utmost heights of Zaphon” -a sacred mountain north of Jerusalem

II. God Protects His People. 48:4-8
A. Jerusalem stood strong
B. The odds were against her
C. Those against her were stronger
D. "The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them." (Psalm 34:7, NIV)
E. "He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart." (Psalm 91:4, NIV)
F. "As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore." (Psalm 125:2, NIV)
