QUESTION: Must we confess the sins of the past?????

Read “Bondage Breaker” 205-208 (Neil Anderson)

Is there something to be learned from the sins and failures of the past?

1 CORINTHIANS 10:1-13

What can we learn from the “sins of the past?”

1. Glorify God for his Amazing Grace. Eph 2:1-5, “as for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins. . .
2. Glorify God by putting the past behind you. (Philippians 3:13-14) "Brothers, I do not

consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."

3. Glorify God for the lessons learned. 1 Cor 10:6, 11
a. Do not be idolaters. 10:7
b. Do not commit sexual immorality. 10:8 c. Do not grumble. 10:10
4. Glorify God bu recognizing your own weakness. 1 Cor 10:12
5. Glorify God by experiencing Christ’s victory
a. It is not your RENUNCIATION of the past that gives you victory, it is CHRIST’S WORK. (Romans 6:6) "For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin—"
b. If you are SAVED you are shielded by God’s power. (1 Peter 1:3-5) " Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time."
