GODhas a lesson for us in the TABERNACLE

Hebrews9:1-10

  1. Five Lessons from the Tabernacle

    1. Human effort cannot remove sin. Hebrews 9:9 (NIV84) This is an illustration for the present time, indicating that the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to clear the conscience of the worshiper.

      1. Answers the quest for RELIGION

      2. MORAL IMPROVEMENT

      3. SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS

    1. Human effort cannot clear our conscience. Hebrews 9:9 This is an illustration for the present time, indicating that the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to clear the conscience of the worshiper.

      1. Answers the quest of PSYCHOLOGY

      2. People look for inner peace

      3. The only way to peace is through Christ. Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

    1. The Old Testament is a teacher, not a master. Hebrews 9:10 They are only a matter of food and drink and various ceremonial washings—external regulations applying until the time of the new order.

    1. Nothing from “this earth” can redeem those from “this earth.” Hebrews 9:11 When Christ came as high priest of the good things that are already here, he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not man-made, that is to say, not a part of this creation.

      1. We have a savior who is “out of this world!”

      2. We needed a savior who is different

      3. An ordinary man would not do.

    1. We have legal and ceremonial privileges in the presence of God. Hebrews 10:19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus,

      1. Not once per year

      2. Not ONLY the high priest

      3. Not with the blood of bulls and goats.

      2. Hebrews 6:19-20 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.
